'Pachinko', the first American TV show which stars Korean actors as main characters

The novel 'Pachinko' by Korean American writer Lee Min-jin is being made into a drama by Apple TV.

'Pachinko', which was also selected as the 'Top 10 Best Books of the Year' by the New York Times in 2017, deals with the family history of four generations of Koreans in Japan from the end of the Japanese occupation to the late 1980s. It is a novel about the desperate lives of Koreans in Japan, who had no choice but to be strangers while living in Japan.

It will be the first American TV show which stars Korean actors as main characters. Considering that many Asian’s stories have been excluded in American public media systemically so far, this is a significant milestone in American history.
